There are some set of people the Yorubas’ call “Ko mo ro” meaning no matter how you try to talk sense into these kinds of people, correct them, insult them and all . No oooo these kinds still won’t get what you say but there are other sets of people who are the opposite of this people
These kinds eh, to them words mean a lot.
These set of people have the primary love language called
WORDS OF AFFIRMATION
“You look sharp in that suit.”
“Do you ever look nice in that dress! Wow!”
“You must be the best potato cook in the world. I love these potatoes.”
“I really appreciate your washing the dishes tonight”
The word encourage means “to inspire courage.” All of us have areas in which we feel insecure. We lack courage, and that lack of courage often hinders us from accomplishing the positive things that we would like to do.
The latent potential within your spouse in his or her areas of insecurity may await your encouraging words. Perhaps your loved one has untapped potential in one or more areas of life. That potential may be awaiting your encouraging words. Perhaps he/ she needs to enroll in a course.
Encouragement requires empathy and seeing the world from your spouse’s perspective. We must first learn what is important to our spouse. Only then can we give encouragement. With verbal encouragement, we are trying to communicate, “I know. I care. I am with you. How can I help?” We are trying to show that we believe in him/her and in his abilities. We are giving credit and praise.
Words are not to be said in a sarcastic manner…… “Ahhh shey you cannot pass this exam ni, you can do it nah, stop being a baby”. These are not the kind of words we are talking about.
The words we speak to people has the ability to shape how they see themselves. It can shape people’s destiny, now it’s left for you to decide if you want to be a maker or a destroyer.
Having a loved one whose primary love language is Word of affirmation requires you assuring them with your words of how much you cherish them and to remind them of how important they are.
