AiyedatiwaGate: Let the accused defend himself

By: Casmir Abegunde

The popular maxim that clear conscience fears no accusation should have been true for the embattled Deputy Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency Lucky Aiyedatiwa if he had not resulted into all these face-saving measures.

How best can you define a man that says he’s innocent and want his present predicament to be seen as a political witch-hunting when he himself has been dilly-dallying in the marshy floor of confusion.

One would have expected him to exhibit brevity, bravery and the loyal DG he claimed to be. However, he denied the receipt of any notice of impeachment while at another time a motion is filed against his boss, the Executive Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu Odunayo, the State Assembly and the Attorney-General of the State- Mr. Charles Titiloye. It’s hard to believe that such confusion could be found with a man that is hiding nothing. Or should we say this is another political melodrama by some sponsored political jobbers who are feeding fat on patronage in time like this.

It’s quite appalling that some emergency groups are springing up influenced by the millions of naira injected into their purses by the man they once termed stingy and self aggrandized. Let the accused defend himself. Impeachment notice isn’t impeachment.

We’re are watching all the accidental lovers of the state who are defending their bellies. The end shall justify the means.
