The Coalition of Ondo Youth and Community Organizations (COYCO) has called for a new era of patriotic and people-centered leadership, formally endorsing High Chief Bamidele Omosehin as their preferred candidate for national representation in the 2027 elections.

At a gathering of youth leaders, community stakeholders, and civil society groups in Okitipupa, COYCO emphasized the urgent need for leaders who prioritize service, integrity, and grassroots development, citing Omosehin as a model of true leadership.

Speaking at the event, Comrade Olafeso Oladipupo, Convener and Executive Director of COYCO, highlighted the coalition’s commitment to ensuring that youths and communities are represented by selfless and visionary leaders.

“For too long, we have suffered the consequences of ineffective representation. It is time to change the narrative by electing leaders who have consistently demonstrated their commitment to the people—not just in words, but in actions. High Chief Bamidele Omosehin has been a beacon of hope, a leader who has invested heavily in the growth of Ondo South without holding any political office. Imagine what he could achieve with a bigger platform to serve,” Oladipupo stated.

He pointed to Omosehin’s extensive contributions through the Bamidele Omosehin Foundation, which has empowered thousands of youths, provided scholarships to students, funded community development projects, and supported widows and vulnerable groups across Ondo South.

COYCO’s endorsement of Bamidele Omosehin is rooted in a larger call for a shift in governance—one that places the interests of the people above personal ambitions. The coalition urged youths, community leaders, and progressive stakeholders to align with leaders who embody the principles of patriotism, service, and accountability.

“Patriotism is not just about waving a flag; it is about selfless service, about lifting others, about putting the collective good above individual gain. High Chief Bamidele Omosehin has consistently shown that he is ready to serve the people. This is why COYCO proudly endorses him and will mobilize massive support to ensure that Ondo South gets the representation it truly deserves,” Oladipupo declared.

As the 2027 elections approach, COYCO has vowed to lead an extensive grassroots mobilization effort across the six local government areas of Ondo South, ensuring that the voices of the people translate into action at the ballot box.

The endorsement of Omosehin by COYCO marks a significant political shift, signaling the readiness of Ondo South to elect leaders who embody patriotism, progress, and selfless service.
