Chelsea handed bad Erling Haaland transfer news by Borussia Dortmund.
After a summer of intensively chasing Erling Haaland, it appears as if Chelsea have hit a speed bump in their road to winning the Dortmund striker’s signature.
Chelsea have received a major blow in their pursuit of Erling Haaland after Borussia Dortmund’s sporting director Michael Zorc said that the club have the Norwegian in their plans ahead of next season.
The Blues have been closely monitoring Haaland’s situation and reportedly ‘doubled down’ their interest in the striker having been outbid by Paris Saint Germain for Achraf Hakimi’s signature, report The Express.
Having already been dealt a significant blow in this summer’s transfer market and yet to provide Thomas Tuchel with his first signing as Chelsea manager, the Blues risk upsetting the German.
All three of the named positions are yet to be wrapped up as the summer transfer deadline edges ever closer and with many Blues players beginning to report for duty at Cobham training ground ahead of the new season.
Speaking to Bild, via Ronan Murphy on Twitter, Zorc said: “Nothing has changed. We plan with Erling for the new season.”
Keen to keep hold of the German manager, the Blues made their first steps in doing so by awarding Tuchel with a new two-year contract just six days after the club’s recent European glory.
