IRS demands Achimugu’s tax returns after lavish birthday

The FCT-Internal Revenue Service has requested socialite Aisha Achimugu, based in Abuja, to submit details of her annual tax returns following a lavish birthday celebration in Grenada. The tax agency, in a now-deleted post on its official platform, wished Achimugu a happy birthday and reminded her to fulfill her tax obligations.

This move comes after reports circulated about Achimugu’s extravagant seven-day birthday party on the Caribbean island of Grenada, attended by high-profile figures, including the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu. The Lagos State Government countered claims that the governor’s visit was solely for the birthday celebration, presenting photos of Sanwo-Olu engaging in discussions on bilateral relations with Grenadian Prime Minister Dickon Michelle.

Achimugu’s birthday celebration, held on Calivigny Island, reportedly cost around $924,000, excluding additional charges. In response to media attention, Achimugu, the Managing Director of Felak Concept Group, described herself as the most popular person globally and expressed no apologies for her celebratory choices.

In a statement, Achimugu thanked those who genuinely showed concern, asserting her happiness and carefree attitude. She emphasized that she would continue to celebrate in a manner that brings her joy, unapologetically being herself.
