Morocco’s Heartbreak: Star Player Hakim Ziyech Faces Doubtful Status for Afcon Round of 16 Clash Against Bafana Bafana – Reports

According to Kingfut and SuperSport, Ziyech missed training on Friday and Saturday while complaining about his ankle.

The severity of his injury is yet to be disclosed but indications are that it was not looking good for the Galatasaray star who is on loan from Chelsea.

His fitness case has worried the Morocco camp as they prepare to tackle South Africa at Laurent Pokou Stadium.

News of Ziyech’s injury could be welcomed by Bafana who see him as a dangerman capable of troubling their defence.

He was on target when the Atlas Lions beat Zambia in their last group game but lasted just 45 minutes due to injury.

That goal gives him confidence if he gets fit going into the match against South Africa.

The Morocco medical team still has the whole day on Monday to work with Ziyech and ensure he is available for the Bafana match.

The North Africans would be hoping he can be available even if not for the entire match as his impact can easily be felt in any match.

If he is fit to play, that would be some good news for Morocco who are celebrating the cancellation of coach Walid Regragui’s suspension by Caf.
