Nigerian lady’s question on men undressing around each other ignites social media conversation
A Nigerian lady has stirred up an interesting online conversation after asking a simple but thought-provoking question — why is it considered abnormal or forbidden for men to undress around each other?
In a video shared online, the lady explained that she recently got into a conversation with some friends after seeing a clip of two men — unclad — who had filmed themselves in a non-sexual context. She noted that nothing in the video suggested the men were gay, but people online were quick to conclude that they must be.
That reaction, she said, made her pause and ask: “Why?”
She further explained that when she brought up the topic among friends, the men immediately responded that it was “weird” for guys to undress or be unclothed around each other.
However, she found this surprising because, in her own experience, women are often comfortable changing or showering in front of their friends or roommates, and it’s not considered inappropriate.
Using herself as an example, she said she and her female roommate have no problem undressing in the same room or chatting casually while changing clothes — something that’s seen as perfectly normal among women.
