Police arrest woman for flogging 22-year-old lady to d3ath with native cane “Okpete” in Abia community
The Abia State Police Command has arrested a 68-year-old woman, Victoria Madubuko, for flogging a 22-year-old lady to d3ath after an altercation in Ndiambe Ozuitem in Bende Local Government Area of the state.
The State Commissioner of Police, CP Danladi Isa, made this known during a press briefing at the police headquarters in Umuahia at the weekend.
According to the CP, the suspect flogged Nnenna Eke with a native cane known as “Okpete”.
“On 25/08/2025, at about 1700hrs , we received a report from Bende Divisional Headquarters that on 04/07/2025 One Victoria Madubuko ‘f’ 68 yrs of Ndiambe Ozuitem in Bende LGA after some altercation flogged one Nnenna Eke ‘f’ 22yrs of same address with a native cane “Okpete’’, as a result Nnenna Eke fell sick and was taken to Tochi Hospital were the doctors confirmed her d3ad,” the CP stated.
“Her corpse has been deposited at Success Medical Service Mortuary Akaelu in Bende LGA.
“The suspect in connection with the case has been arrested. Investigation is ongoing at SCID Umuahia.”
