SM HEALTH: Check out this new way of spicing up your rice for healthy benefits

Rice can be used in different ways, they can be used to create a side meal or the main meal.
Let’s look at the different ways it is used:
1. Instant pot rice( This is just cooking the rice ordinarily)
1.Coconut Rice
2.Mango sticky Rice
4.Fried Rice
5.Pineapple Fried Rice
6.Lime Rice
7.Ginger and Garlic Rice( this is what we would be treating in our post)

GINGER AND GARLIC RICE

This type of dish made from rice can be used as a side dish and also a main dish, so it’s ya choice.

It’s very medicinal and also very delicious at the same time, what a meal

Ingredients
• 2 cups of rice(any rice of your choice, either long or short)
• 2 tablespoon of oil(preferably coconut oil)
• 6 cloves of minced garlic
• 11/2 inch of fresh ginger (peeled and thinly sliced)
• 21/2 cups of good quality chicken stock (either bought or home made)
1/2 tablespoon of salt to taste
• 1 cup fresh vegetables (coarsely chopped)

Now let’s take the instructions on how to come about this delicious meal

INSTRUCTIONS
1.Rinse the rice twice and drain well
2.Heat the oil to medium in a sauce pan(big enough to accommodate the rice and water with enough space to allow rice to expand as it Cooks) or Rice cooker
3. Stir-fry the garlic and ginger until it becomes very aromatic and golden brown( this should be about 2-3minutes)
4.Add the drained rice and continue to stir-fry until fully coated with the oil and is fragrant( this should be about 2-3minutes)
5.Pour in the chicken stock and add your salt. Bring to a boil uncovered (if cooking with the sauce pan). Once it begins to boil, cover, then allow to simmer on low and cook for about 18-20minutes, or until the liquid has been fully absorbed and the rice is tender
6.Stir in the chopped vegetables and serve hot
Your ginger and garlic rice is ready (I can’t wait to eat o)

As you would notice, we didn’t add water to it, because we used enough stock.
