The body of a middle-aged man, simply identified as Femi, has been recovered from a well along the Ado Ekiti-Afao Ekiti Road in the Ekiti State capital.
Sources said the deceased left home on Friday and all efforts to locate his whereabouts were futile until his dead body was found in a well allegedly on his plot of land on Sunday.
A source said, “It was in the bid to locate his whereabouts that some people suggested that he should be traced to his plot of land off the Ado Ekiti-Afao Ekiti Road. Surprisingly, his dead body was found inside the well there.”
The source, who said police investigation would unravel whether it was murder or suicide, said, “As I speak, I am still in shock. This is shocking.”
He, however, said men of the state fire service and the police were invited to the scene to recover the corpse from the well.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Sunday Abutu, who confirmed the incident on Monday, said, “It was reported that the deceased left home on Friday and did not return. He was suddenly found in a well on Sunday along the Ado Ekiti-Afao Ekiti Road.
