Streaming Farms Threaten Industry Integrity – Blaqbonez Warns
Popular rapper Blaqbonez has spoken out against the rising use of streaming farms in the Nigerian music scene.
Reacting to a tweet by fellow singer Magixx, who called out artists for faking their streaming numbers, Blaqbonez stated that the damage done by such practices is “irreversible.”
Magixx had written:
“Y’all faking your numbers. I hope you sleep well at night… keep deceiving your family members.”
Blaqbonez quoted the tweet and added:
“The irreversible damage we’ve done to our industry… one day it’ll finally come crumbling down. For now, let’s keep acting like the charts mean anything more than a showcase of the people who can afford to buy it. It’s like iTunes in the 2000s all over again.”
