WAR AT ATALANTA: Gasperini Blasts “Selfish” Lookman Again—”He Owes Us Too!”

Lookman

The battle between Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini and Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman is far from over. After their heated exchange last week over a missed penalty in the UEFA Champions League, Gasperini has taken another shot at the player, questioning his loyalty and contribution to the team.

Following Atalanta’s 5-0 demolition of Empoli, Gasperini made it clear that Lookman isn’t bigger than the club.

“Lookman has always scored a lot of goals, at least since he joined Atalanta,” Gasperini stated. “He has become an extraordinary player, but only when he puts himself at the disposal of the team.

The 67-year-old tactician didn’t stop there, reminding Lookman that his success is tied to Atalanta.

“Atalanta owes a lot to Lookman, but let’s not forget—he owes us too.”

With tensions boiling, is Lookman’s future at Atalanta now in doubt?
